To foster a strong economy in Montana we must be supportive of all potential opportunities. Small manufacturing, timber and logging, and education add considerable wealth to Montana and her people.

Agriculture continues to be Montana’s #1 industry. From dry land grains and livestock, to our irrigated crop lands, agriculture is still Montana’s base.

The oil and gas industry has contributed greatly to Montana’s economy especially the current budget surpluses. Montana is rich in energy potential.

New on the energy horizon is wind energy. Montana has some of the best wind energy potential in the world. With the Judith Gap project as a start we will continue to work with developers.

Montana has a rich mining heritage. From the coal mines in the east to the hard rock mines in the west the mining industry provides some of the best paying jobs in the state.
